At the Race

Garments in this collection show both glamor and burden with garment designs by Katie Coble and Prints by Jennifer Hunt. The construction and patterns of the garments blend the high and the low of Horse Racing culture. Pieces are influenced by both the jockey’s graffic and flag like prints shown on their uniforms and the clean pastel and florals fashions of the spectators. Garments start out looking light and feminine referenceing women dressed for a racing event. As it progresses harlequins and stripes can be seen. Hats start to sag. Transparent jackets and shirts are made with inner structures that are visible from the outside, and sag on the body. These blown up garments more closely resemling the jockeys uniform.
